How to un freeze a stuck motor?

I bought this older motor condition unknown. Winds up the cylinders are stuck. I have been soaking it with PB blaster and another lubricating agent called Certified Free. I have tried tapping on the top of the cylinders but after a week they have not moved yet. Any suggestions other than junk/part it?

Remove lower unit. If it then does not turn over try the "float test". Throw it in lake and if it floats keep trying. Lol.

Seriously though, remove lower to find out if it's the power head seized or a bad gear case.

If this is a big 3 or 4 cylinder motor it needs to come apart !!

Thanks for the imput. As cheap as I got this I can spend a few dollars if it can be fixed.
It's an Evinrude 1970 115 hp Starflite.

Answer this question.----Read carefully.-----Does the flywheel rock back and forth a tiny little bit or not at all as in stuck solid ?------And have you priced electronic parts and availability of those parts ?

Racerone it doesn't move at all. Have gotten the pistons to wiggle on the rings. The cylinders don't show hardly any wear.

Then the bearings are locked up.--Motor needs to come apart.----All good learning and you will get more coins in scrap value that way I think.

OK thanks. Gonna have to make a decision soon whether to part or fix if soaking doesn'to work soon.

If bearings had water on them then they are now scrap.-Soaking does not fix that !

OK thanks. Any way of telling without tearing it apart? And if it is the bearings stuck would it be OK to rebuild?

If its bearings stuck its possibly repairable... but you can't tell without opening up the engine crankcase.

Remove the bypass covers and look at the rods / bearings for signs of water / rust.---Have you removed the lower unit ?--That might be locked up too !

Have taken the bypass covers off but can't see any rust. Been spraying as best I can the bearings & rods. Have not pulled lower unit yet but the prop turns forward with the dogs clicking.

That is actually sounding promising about being repairable...

It'll most likely need a full tear down so you can find what is stuck and un-jam it.

No Title

Got the motor to move today! Rotated it about 3 teeth on the flywheel back and forth. Used an impact wrench on the flywheel nut to jar it loose. Hoping tomorrow to get it to move some more.

on my stuck 9.5 1966 Evinrude mdl 9623a I removed the cyl head and banged away 3 weeks with a 1 inch dowel and a hammer with continous soaking till it moved a bit

eventually is broke loose and now run perfectly. it is now trusty my back up to my 75 ETEC

trolled 3 days not a single hick up :)

I got the motor unfreeze today. After more soaking and cranking it turned over freely. After several cranks, I coated the cylinders with TC-3 oil and cranked her a lot more. I added more oil and left it to soak some more. Gonna order more head gaskets and try to fire it up. Wish me luck!
