How to: View iboats at full screen width

Being a web developer by trade, I am constantly baffled as to why sites limit their page width, effectively ruining the main benefit of a widescreen display.

Well, here is a clean method to make iboats.com full width:

Go to this url and click 'Add to firefox':
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108

Go to this url and click 'save style'
http://userstyles.org/styles/13517

Done!

Obviously this only works with firefox. Those who don't use firefox, I strongly encourage you to try it and use it. It is faster, more stable and has countless addons which make life more fun on the web and easier overall.

This method does not remove the ads, it expands the main area to fill the unused space on your screen. Although even if it did, I highly doubt an internet sales site would charge for use of it's forums. The discussions here bring them money in sales, not the other way around.

Thanks lowkee that works great. I never thought about it too much, but kind of makes sense to have it as wide as possible versus stuck in the middle.

Thanks. At work I'm running 1024x768 on a 17" LCD and the page fills my screen. At home on a 22" CRT it didn't so this made things a bit nicer.

I use to do some web stuff as a hobby (HTML, PHP, MySQL and a little PERL). I can remember making sure someone with a 15" monitor wouldn't have to side-scroll. A few years later, it was the same thing for folks with a 17".
