joining a boating forum to ask how to wire the 110 volt portion of a boat battery charger in an rv is goofy...... to answer black- red+ is even goofier

the correct answer is to install a 110 volt outlet in the battery compartment

What battery are you trying to charge? the starting battery?

Chances are that your rv already has a charger for the "house" batteries.
Why not use that one to charge the starting battery.

Or just get a $29 battery tender and attach it to the battery, connect to power w/extension cord.
