Hi all. I recently bought a 96 chris craft concept 21 br. I can't seem to get a solid bead on how well these boats were made in that era. Any expertise/knowledge of the quality during this time vs years past? Were they cutting corners? Is there wood in the design or all glass? Thanks.

Top notch quality, always has been. I believe in that era they were still using wood construction.

I would probably preface the comment about "top notch quality" by saying that most of the boat companys in the 80's and early 90's were in a pretty tight economy, so corners were cut by all companies. That being said, Chris Craft enjoys a steady following and is know in general for a top-tier quality boat. I really do find it hard to separate a lot of boats in the late-80's early-90's (in terms of ranking quality) due to the similar euro styling and apointments that started to become the norm.

Biggest bummer was the prevalent usage of OMC stern drives which are no longer fully supported with parts.
