How/Where do I get rid of 20 gal. of funky gas?

At 3 bucks a gallon it's almost criminal but this stuff is ten years old and pretty rank. Where do I take 20 gallons of gas to dispose of it properly?<br /><br /><br />spots

dilution might be a solution......<br /><br />Add it to your vehicle's tank a gallon at a time after you fill up<br /><br />Pick your old beater if you have one or mix it with new gas for your mower maybe 10 to 1 or so. <br /><br />or you could help your neighbours gas mileage a little too by adding it to his tank. He'll think he is driving a refinery .....if he keeps track of his mileage that is....... Then after he gets used to the good mileage, drain out a gallon or so..... <br /><br />JD

Put it in cans and sell it at the curb at the gas station.

Seems like you could dilute it 1/2 gallon of junk gas to 10 gallons of new. Let is settle out for a while and only take the gas from the top. Maybe dont use the last gallon or so.<br /><br />I have heard some recycle centers/landfills will take it.<br /><br />Ken

If you have a vehicle you can park on the street for a couple of nights fill the tank with the old fuel and for sure someone will be sure to take it off your hands. Other than that dilution might work.

Dilute it and use it. Four to one ratio, in a low octane motor.

I did not know that you could use gas that is that old.<br />My recommendation, at first, was to use it for a bon fire.<br />I'm not sure if I would use gas that is as old as that. <br />That is just my opinion.<br />B.C.

When I bought my boat in 01, I had about 80 gallons of the stuff. Lucky the local fire department took it off my hands. Then I got another boat a year or so ago that had about 20 gallons of bad gas. The fire department declined the offer due to new regulations.<br /><br />SO this is what I did. I found someone who scraps out lots of cars. He let me put the gas in the cars that go to the scrap yard. The scrap yard has a machine that punctures and drains the gas tanks. That way I let them deal with it since they have the means to get rid of it. Good Luck!

Add some stabilizer and mix it like others said, use it in lawnmowers etc... I have used old gas in many things mixed with new and never had a problem. Just make sure it isn't full of junk{water dirt rust........}

Im with BC get out in the yard and trim some trees then buy a keg and invite everbody over,throw alot gas on the trees and you got an intant party.and dont forget about the beercan chickens and smoked meat.

Bon fires are out cuz I live in the city. They kinda frown on that. All I have is a push mower and a tiny yard so it'd take years to get rid of like that and no way is this stuff going in my outboard. I'll check with my co-workers to see if any of their farmer buddies can use it for something. <br /><br />Although Pascal's idea would be more entertaining. <br /><br />spots

I have been in this situation many times . Here is what do, Mix it 5 to 1 with regular gas or if you have a truck with a 40 gallon tank, pump 30 gallons of 93 and then put 10 gallons of the bad stuff in. You will not notice.

When I was a kid I bought a 1962 Olds that had been sitting for about 15 years, with half a tank of gas - real premium leaded fuel! After filling up the radiator and making a few checks, I primed the carb and whaddya know, it ran. In fact I drove it 120 miles back to where I live on that fuel. This engine had 10.5:1 compression ratio and didn't seem to mind the old fuel.
