You got to break some eggs to make the omelet. If you're going to win decisely, you have to do what it takes and not dilly-dally around. Iraq has already demonstrated their treatment of POW's in this one and in Gulf 1. Finding chemical plants just adds fuel to the fire. Give em 24 hours to evacuate Baghdad and then turn it into a parking lot. Get em out in the open and on the run. City fighting is the worst kind of combat. Ask any WW2 European vet or Vietnam Vet who fought at Hue. Sorry if this sounds callous, but I prefer for our guys and our allies to be the ones who live through this.

Not just night time sorties over Bagdad. I mean around the clock bombing just the way Allies did to Germany in WWII. To many of our boys are already in body bags to be fooling around with this lot like we have been. Keep pounding them and then pound them some more. So far I havn't seen the shock and awe that was advertised. I know they got some new gadgets from them foreigners but our gadgets are better than theirs. The news media is saying that power plants aren't being targeted because they will be needed after the war when we are repatriating the people. Hit the darn power lines! Put their butts in the dark. Power lines can be put back up in days. Don't give them electricity to communicate on. Make them start uning what reserves they got. OH SHOOT! Getting off on a rant again. Just drop Bubba!

Of course we could not use the a-bomb.<br /><br />Just to much loss of life with it.<br /><br />To be honest, I would concentrate the special forces into Baghdad to take care of business.<br /><br />Also, there are a lot of civilians with guns they are picking up from Iraq army that are surrendering.

get one of your old NATO allies to act like they<br />won't let you use there airspace, make a big push<br />from the south so all the republican guard dig in<br />south of Bagdad, then attack from the north

Personally I think the way that GW senior did it would have been a little better. I think about a month long bombing campaign followed by the ground forces going in. Barring that and in the interest of time perhaps a week or two of heavy bombing then send in the troops. As far as the run and gun technique that is going on I think we need to move the troops in a little slower and clean out the rats nests rather than just bypassing them because as has been already shown the rats you leave behind are just as deadly as those in front. Also leaving them behind you is a great way to get cut off. This is just my non-military trained mind talking here but I bet it makes sense to those of you who may have actually seen combat. <br />BTW just in support of the way things are going on I think the lack in numbers of bombing runs and bombs dropped has to do with the fact that Bush is holding them back for future use elsewhere. I really think the need for speed is also due to this future use of troops. He wants to cut off this snake's head and them mop up while he goes to work on another snake perhaps in a more Humid jungle climate.

I think GW and his boys are doing it just fine.<br /><br />The only other thing I would consider is sending a team of covert operatives into Baghdad to remove the bad guys. They can and they would, but congress has forbidden assassinations.<br /><br />That, of course, would outrage the candy-butt wimps that are in such an uproar of anti-Bush crap already.
