This one needs a good set of downriggers... got to get down deeper to find any answers.

Actually OJ... I think Bob Woodward kinda planted a landmine and Fitzgerald stepped in it. Everyone else is busy cleaning themselves off from all the crap that splattered. ;)

It was a non issue in the first place so the libs dropped it as it wasnt going anywhere. They wanted it to go all the way to Bush.

Libby will probably do a short spell in prison, he did lie to the grand jury, what a stupid thing for anyone to do, he should've known that and should have been prepared, the man contradicted his very own testimonial.

The case to be following is the Jack Abramov story, it makes the Libby case look like a juvenile prank, a few senators and congressmen will most definitely be going down with this ship ;)

He must be a real fool! Every one knows that only Clinton can get away with that lying stuff.

Clinton didn't get away with it. He was impeached for lying.

Libby is going down for the same thing Martha Stewart did. Be interesting to compare Libby’s sentencing with Martha's. It cost $2-million to nail Martha, and for that cost to the tax payers she was given 5-mon of jail and 6-mos of house arrest. Each of the 11 months of Martha’s inconvenience cost the tax payers $182,000.

Re: Hows the Libby inditement coming along?

I don't think the Woodward thing has anything to do with the Libby deal at all. He was not charged with "outing" the agent--only lying about his involvement in it. And Fitzgerald is clean on this as well. He said Libby was the first "known" source of the leak--and he lied about it. Whether he was the actual first source or not is pretty much irrelevant to the lying part.

To charge a person with the underlying crime, you have to prove intent--and proving what was in someone's head at the time is pretty tough to do...

But the real problem in keeping the Libby deal on the front burner is that we seem to uncover more and bigger new scandals every day with these administration folks. The latest being the 100 million dollar pentagon contract to plant fake news stories in Iraqi papers.

How can anyone hope to keep up with the depths these people will sink to???

LA Times has no proof of money changing hands.
Military has admitted providing "Good News".

What's wrong with a little propaganda PW? We get a daily dose of it here from the LA Times, NY Times, ET El.

Re: Hows the Libby inditement coming along?

Excerpted from HERE:

Former Independent Counsel Joseph diGenova said Wednesday that new information that in the Leakgate case has cast so much doubt on the credibility of Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald's prosecution that Justice Department guidelines require him to dismiss his indictment of Lewis "Scooter" Libby...

"Under Justice Department guidelines, when [Fitzgerald] has reason to believe that some fact that he has relied on is false, such as Mr. Libby being the first person to tell a reporter, he has a duty to go back and if necessary, if that creates reasonable doubt about other things in the indictment he must dismiss it."

^
^
Who are you talking about?...the accusers or the accused. Because we each ask the same q's. This whole GW admin. scandle scheme is tiring....A contract with the pentagon?...OMG! :D

Re: Hows the Libby inditement coming along?

DiGenova's politics and sympathies are well known. Until Mr. Fitzgerald amends the charges, I think I'll wait for the trial and see what happens. Obstruction of Justice is a serious crime.

He has convened a new grand jury, and I keep waiting for him to lead Rove and Cheney out in handcuffs as well.

As far as the paid propaganda, freedom of the press is a fundamental and critical part of any democracy. How you can advocate subverting Freedom of the Press and at the same time champion democracy is just a mystery to me.

PW there you go again believing your friends at the LA Times. THEY HAVE NO PROOF OF MONEY OFFERED for the stories. It's only here-say.
A case of "be careful what you wish for" syndrome. The investigations started to uncover information about the wrong people. I'm not sure what that means. I will wait and see, because this has had it's legs chopped-off, and wings sprouted in their place.
I cannot wait! :D

A short C/P from the hearing:
State Prosecutor Fishing:
"I have no idea if Mr. Limbaugh has completed the elements of any offense yet."
Prosecutor asks judge to waive doctor/patient privilege in order to find a crime he admits in open court has not been committed! All this, AFTER seeing my medical records...
For the latest, PDF of hearing held on 11/08/05... Maybee next time, libs. :D :D

Impeachment is merely accusation, like an indictment; Clinton was tried by the Senate and acquitted. Don't know whether he really got away with it though.

Wasn't there a fine & court costs for Martha to pay? and didn't we get some free labor out of her during her unfortunate incarceration?

Keep in mind, as we all learned during the Clinton fiasco, that not every lie under oath is "perjury"...

"I have no idea if" is not an admission that a crime has not been committed. But at least he's sometimes right some of the time - documented! ;)
