My manager called a meeting at 01:00 cdt this morning. He stated that our “turnover” documents are officially “a legal and binding document”. Turnover being and including timeline, solve (a problem ticket), tasks, for a 12-hour period. He said he went to HR, and that each day his supervisor will e-mail an form to each of us, with a confirmed check box we have to click on. Copy forwarded to him. (“This will eliminate errors”). If you f****p, and cost the company money you are fired. Can he do that? I am so pi***XT about this. We are the only shift that is beginning to do this. As far as errors this year (1). Is this guy American? I have, a stress test tomorrow, doctors request.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Unless you have a contract, your employer can fire you at anytime, for any reason.

It seems very short sighted for a company to fire everyone that makes a mistake, unless the mistakes are repeated or extremely costly or dangerous.

quote: "Unless you have a contract, your employer can fire you at anytime, for any reason"...

untrue! I have hired/fired many people over the
years... u have to have a legal reason!
I recomend u call the labor board (again), to see
exactly what your state laws allow.

good luck,
M.Y.

To me this is not way to get more bang our of your bucks...Treat someone fairly and you will double you input..The guy needs to remember that those you step on going up the ladder are the same ones you meet coming back down..his time will come and corporate will see him as he is..expendable...

I'm with Roscoe on this one. I think it's legal, but cost-effective? It sounds like he is trying to scare your shift into increased production to me.
If he fired you over this, he is failing to grasp the expense of training, and recruiting your replacements.
Kinda moronic buisness practice ifn ya axe me.
