OK guy's and gal's I have a 24 ft kayo pontoon boat that I cant seam to find much information on. I am wondering if I can put a older 70 hp motor on it. the motor is heavy and will the boat support it???? The motor is a old chrysler that runs like a top and has good compression. We just mover to the lake and I can't afford to buy a good motor at this time. I hate to wast my time putting this on but if it will work I need to do this for now. Thanks for the help

Clancy 1010,
Look inside the railings for a maximum capacity U.S. Coast Guard sticker that will tell you the maximum load, people, ad motor size you can carry on it. If it takes a 70 horsepower then go for it and put it on if it is running good for you. For example, I own a 1991 model 202 Lowe's for Johnson Pontoon boat and I can only take a maximum of 75 horsepower on it so I have a 70 horsepower 1983 Johnson outboard on her. When I bought it last year it only had a 1991, 25 horsepower Johnson on her. Let us know, Bob:)

I have never come across a 24 ft pontoon that couldn't handle a 75 hp, but it would likely need to be a long shaft.
