Got a 12' Klamath Trailorboat. It has no hull ID tag on it so I am unsure of the HP rating. Is there a way to figure it out using the boat dimensions?

60" wide (50" at the stearn), 21" deep, 12' long. It's relativly flat bottomed V hull only extends 1/3 way back.

Typically my guess for a 12' would be around 10HP. However that's a pretty high sided one so it could be rated a bit higher. I still think around a 10 would be the ideal motor for it.

I run a 9.5 johnson on it now, and it moves it pretty well. Just curious my other 12 footer is a foot narrower and and almost a foot shallower at the sides and its rated for a 10hp.
