Does anyone has seen this product in a retail store? Other than the manufacturing company and the guys in ebay selling the rods I dont seem to find it anywhere.

The manufacturer sells a pound for 65 including shiping and a video. That is 34 18 inches rods per pound to a total of $1.91 per rod.

Including shiping the cheapest guy in ebay sells them for $3.54 per rod.

I dont see a reason to buy a pound, so I will probably go with the ebay guy unless I can find it locally at a better price or maybe still online at a better place.

Thanks!

Aluminum is tricky stuff to mend. The HTS rods and Durafix will work BUT there is about only a 40 degree seperation between the repair and TOTAL meltdown.

I'm not sure the difference between HTS2000 and Durafix, but Durafix is much cheaper, $12+ for 8 or so 18" rods. I was interesting in the HTS2000 until I saw the price, then I was interested in Durafix. I've seen the aluminum brazing rods at local hardware stores before, Ace, True Value, etc..

Bob is right, there isn't much room for error with the heat,,, and MAPP gas will melt aluminum.

I got the aluminweld from Harbor Freigth. It is very tricky as I found out. the hts2k is not much more expensive per rod than the aluminweld.
HTS is 1.91 per rod and Aluminweld is 1.64 per rod after taxes. BUT, you can buy smaller amounts than with hts.... That made a difference for me.
