Hub exhaust versus transom exhaust

What kind of performance increase if any would i get converting my OMC 225 (chevy 305)to a transom exhaust versus through hub (OMC 800 stern) exhaust. And can it be done while maintaining the current sound levels?

I have to say a V-8 sounds real good with through hull exhaust.

Yeah, just like an old John Deer tractor! Guys that need loud exhausts must be making up for tiny other things.

Thanks. The engine sounds great as it is and I am not sure my wife would put up with it being a lot louder. Mainly I am looking for inexpensive ways to increase performance without dropping in a bigger engine.

Iboats lists it, (http://www.iboats.com/mall/index.cg...ry=small block chevy marine&*******=055264899) but it's always OUT OF STOCK, Amazon , Ebay, or direct from Dennis @ www.mooreperf.org...Dennis has forgotten more about HP GM engines than everyone combined on this forum will ever know.
