I just got the old edit job on another web page for typing the word crap??? Yep crap!! I guess I should have known better, I was surfing the web and came across this Motorcycle web page, it was some sort of a christian motorcycle web page. The one topic kinda got my goat so I just busted in and stated my opinion. I never saw a worse bunch of hippocrits (sp got to load spell checker)) in my life. I also said somthing about those guys that wear those gay chaps when they ride, that got the edit too.

Once my post got the once over from the so called christians I started to get private messages from these guys. Everything from them saying they hate gays ( of which I dont as long as they leave me alone) Several refrences to doing bodily harm to gays??? Several refrences degrading women and so on. I think I will post there for a while till I get the goods on all these so called holy rollers and then let the cat out of the bag.

The bad thing is this seems to be normal for all the so called born again types I have run into in my lifetime.

Sounds like a real "homey" place Flathead. I tend to stay away from places (sites) like that. Don't have much tolerance for their type attitude.

Re: Huh! whoda thunk it

I agree with you 100% Flathead. I think those Born again hemroids feed on the sins of others. They look for the bad in everyone and then continue to gossip between themselves about it.

To me, those who seek out the sins of others are worse than the sinners themselves. They should keep their noses out of other peoples lives.

If I don't bother them, I expect the same in return. But no, what ever they think is wrong. They will impose on you their beliefs and try to get you to change to their views on life. I truely think this is wrong.

I think the way the congregation gossips among themselves is the reason I quit attending church. I just hate people talking about each other when most of the stuff is absolutly wrong.

Examples:

Did you see Sue's husband looking at Joe's wifes legs?

Why did Mary where that dress to church, its the wrong time of the year for that.

I saw Sam smoking a cigarett in his car before coming into the church, that is so disrespectful to our lord.

Patty looks pregnant, I wonder if it is her husbands?

The pastor was at Sara's house the other night late and her husband was at work, I bet they were doing something.

It is always someone else doing something wrong, but never themselves. These people need a real hobby....

I hear ya mayfloat. It is a shame because these types make it rough for those that seem to do a lot of good through the ministry like are friend Aspeck.

Hey guys just because some " so called Christians " as Flahthead put it, act like a bunch of nimrods doesnt mean all christians are that way. It would be like saying that all bikers are dirty, mean dishonest people because a few of them seem to act in that way.I know different because of many great and honest good people that I know who are bikers. And I doubt its the norm you have run into, just the ones that stick out to you. Its a shame this is how you feel.By the way I would love to get that address as well........sounds like a place I would like to visit  You need to relize Christians are people just like everybody else and some never learn or even wish to learn the correct way to treat other people. And when they are full of sin and shame its easier for then to shift blame onto other people by pointing out others short comings. Just my thoughts :)

Re: Huh! whoda thunk it

mikeandronda I guess it sounded like I was stereotyping, that was not my intent. I am sure I have worked side by side with many born again folks and never knew it. It is the ones that make a big deal of it and shout the loudest about being born again that seem to be the worst kind of people. Like Mayfloat said they pick at what they think is every shortcoming they see in people when all the while they are doing the same thing  I guess any sin as long as its commited in the name of the lord is ok with them.

Re: Huh! whoda thunk it

Its all cool flahthead, I know a few Christian bikers that are stand up guys and I bet they also would like to see that websight.I think its human nature ( Crappy as it is )to try and shift other peoples eyes to those who have visable sin so that those who have hidden sin can keep it hidden. The sad thing is many people believe " all" Christians have the same values. But truth be told there is a difference from talking the talk and walking the walk. Mant Christians act one on Sunday and the other 6 days are no different from the world. :(

I agree with MikeandRonda.

I, too have met "Holier than thou. . .and everybody else, too" born-again Christians, but I have also met many who are true to what they profess and practice what they preach.

Let's not stereotype the born-again as hypocrites, lest we stereotype ourselves as something even worse.

Re: Huh! whoda thunk it

The bible says we( Christians ) are to "show" the world we are different by our actions not just our words. Its Gods will for us to help each other not hurt........even Gay people. They are wrong to attack gays and some day I believe they will answer for it.

Re: Huh! whoda thunk it

I made mention of good old Jim baker on this site , made a reference to the things he had done. This private message came back to me. It is laughable.

---------------------------------------------------
please don't refer to Jim Baker as a bad guy it was not his fault that Tammy Faye is a fake when Jim got locked up she divorced him and went to Palm springs and was the fall of her next husbands ministry who I believe is still in prison
when she found out that Jim Baker was in Los Angeles she came to him and wanted him to start another TV ministry so she could afford to live her lifestyle
and now she is doing sitcoms like the sureal life

beside my Father ( pops ) was an ordianed minister under Jim Baker
I still have access to his PTL study Bible

----------------------------------------------

Good old Jim, it was not his fault. LOL :D

OK OK, No more post from me on this one.

Born Again Holly Rollors, Darned if ya do. Darned if ya Don't! It's all about Power and Control over people, then Money. Preaching the second oldest profession in the world closely tied to the first!
I'm talking about the 10% we see that make it bad for the other 90%.
IMHO
PS from the wife Mrs Link - there are 3 different types in all groups - those that want to control, those who honestly beleive in what they say but are terrribly mis-guided and those who are truly wonderful non-condeming people.

Re: Huh! whoda thunk it

Flahthead, you had me going there for a while! ;) I do agree with what I think is the intent of what you are saying, but I do not appreciate being generalized. If you saw the style in which I worship, and knew completely what I believe, you would probably classify me as a born again holy roller.

With that said, I hope that you have been able to see through my posts that I believe it is what is inside that makes the man (or woman)(and I think from you post you have). Although MY interpretation of the Bible makes it very clear to me how I and others should live, it is not my job or position to JUDGE you. I may tell you what I believe, even try to convince you to believe what I believe, but in the end, you better live what you believe.

I also believe that there IS A DIFFERENCE between the sin and a sinner. After all, according to my scriptures, we are all sinners - we just exhibit them in different ways. God hates the sin, but loves the sinner. That means He loves ME! When I do wrong according to the Word of God, I need to see it, repent (which means turn away, as in 180 degree turn) and try with all my heart, and His help, to sin no more. Unfortunately I don't always see or understand the sins I commit. That is when I need others (including pastors and church leaders) to point it out to me. Then it is my choice what to do with that information.

As for Church, it should be time when others can expound the scriptures to us, so we can see ourselves for who we really are (and sometimes that isn't so pretty). Yes, sometimes Christians are hypocrites. Yes, sometimes Christians fail, and fall short of their calling. Yes, sometimes (quuite often actually) Christians sin. That is why I serve a God that is more than just and fair, He is loving and forgiving. Because if He was strictly just and fair I would have been zapped long ago!

Sorry I got long winded - you know how preachers are! Guess it is just both sides of this coin that get to me at times. And Flahthead, thanks for not including me in the "Rant Group" (even if I am a hemroid :D :D  :( )
