Hull extension for mysterious vessel

I am in the process of purchasing what I am lead to believe is a 1982 seacraft half cabin which I cannot find any information or pictures of whatsoever. It is a 6m hull with what looks like a pod extension holding a 175 mercury. Seems to be quite an old and heavy engine for the hull build and size and so I am looking at doing a hull extension or pod extension to accomodate either twin 115s or a 200-225hp outboard( recommendations on either of these would be appreciated). The extension will allow more space for the diving (both scuba and spearfishing/free diving) setup that I am after which I have not been able to find in any pre fabricated boats other that ones which are FAR beyond my price range. Is this a reasonable option or am in absolutely mad?

I hope you really really like projects

this pic alone indicates there is something amiss with the transom

those brown streaks are indicators of rot. the bracket looks like its aftermarket, meaning the boat may have been designed and built with an I/O, then converted

converting a boat and extending it is a large feat. it is also going to be costly. I would suggest buying what you want to start with. it will be much less of a project, and actually cost less.

on top of that, no way you get twins on that bracket unless its the doublemint twins.

Chop Chop.. If you really like this boat you certainly can do an extension. It's done all the time.
