I have a 1989 Javelin, the Identification numbers on the side are starting to disappear. They are white with a black outline. Was wondering what is a good paint to go ahead and tape off area and paint new letters to bring back original look?

Second question does anybody know what is a good website is to get original Javelin stickers for the sides of the boat?

Re: Hull identification numbers

Are you sure they are painted?
It is much easier and more common to just order a set of vinyl letters.

Generic
($15) or Custom ($22)

Might be better (Reg numbers are don't stay with a boat in TN) to get the paint off and use vinyl letters/numbers.

Just replaced mine with a slick setup form iBoats. In Washington state, the letters have to be 3" tall and contrast with the paint. The previous owner missed the contrast part and I was reminded of this rule by the CG on a safety inspection. The new numbers look great and were super easy to install. Hardest part was getting the old glue off after pealing off the old ones without messing up the p
