I hoping someone has an answer for this one. I have a 12' 1967 Valco in pristine condition. My problem is that there is some type of protective coating on the hull that is peeling and I would like to know what is is and if I can re apply it. It's transparent with a greenish hue. The aluminum where it has peeled up is shiny new and I'd like to keep it that way, if possible. Thanks for your help.

Re: Hull Protectant

Throwing this back out here. My Valco aluminum has some type of hull protectant painted on it. It's transparent with a greenish hue. Has anyone seen or know what this is? I was curious if it was something that maybe came standard on aluminum boats at that time ( manufactured in 67). I'd like to be able to reapply it if possible. Thanks again.

Ayuh,... I'd sooner think a previous owner clear coated it...
