I have just purchased a boat which has a Humminbird 200DX on it and it works great as far as I can tell.

It has three cables coming from the unit - one is the transducer - one is the power cable - But I have no idea what the third one is it terminates in like a sealed pin that looks as though it could plug into something - It is all coiled up and obviously was not used.

Please can anyone tell me what it is - I have the manual but it does not mention it.

Thank You
Graham

I used to have one of those on my little 18 footer. It's either a temp sensor or speed sensor cable (or both!). Mine had a speed sensor cable that I hooked up to a paddle wheel thingy.

Here's a link to the paddle wheel thingy that you mount to the outside of the transom: http://store.humminbird.com/products/323040/TS_W

Thank you I think you are right it plugs in to a paddle or something. Can i ask you - He has two aligator clips on the power cable to put onto a battery and they do work but I want to put new spade ends on to put on my new battery - on the red cable he has taped in a fuse - Do I need that how does it come originaly.

Thank You

I'd leave the in-line fuse on the wire. I don't recall if mine had an in-line fuse on it, but it certainly doesn't hurt. Just make sure it's accessible, so if/when it blows, you can get to it to replace it.
