Howdy Locknut. For the most part, there are not too many Humminbird enthusiasts here. Too bad you don't have an Eagle, Garmin, or Lowrance. Then you would have a gaggle of responses. At any rate, no matter what brand, two hundred or two thousand dollars, don't expect to see clear, clean arches. Most of what you see in publications or advertisements are simulations. What you will most likely see are a few pixels or partial arches when a fish crosses through the transducer cone. As you get more responses to your post, someone will pass on a link to a web-site that will give more detailed information concerning arches, fish I.D. mode as well as other related info. Good luck.
