I bought this boat a few weeks ago and just about got everything done and ready to fish. On the front bow is a bracket and wires for a Humminbird and I wanted to know will "AMY" Humminbird hook up to those wires. I know I might have to change bracket but I dont mind that if the wires will go to another humminbird. THANKS

How about some pics? Hbirds usually have a base/connector type that the main unit is snapped into. You can plug the wire connectors into the unit but they won't be secured. The swivel base is what hold all the connectors together. The power wire is pretty universal on older units but the transducer is not. Some older transducers will not work with a newer unit and vice versa. Go to the Hbird website and look up their customer service #. They're very helpful.

Re: HumminBird Fish Finder question

I think I am close as to what unit the wiring goes to. Its a Older Hbird LCR 4000 from the later 1980's which would also fit with the year of the boat ( 1988 ). I would assume that a older unit like that would not be worth using and just get a newer model.. Unless someone knows if the LCR 4000 is any good..

There ya go. Why starring at a b/w crt with 3 channels dial when they have 3D LED tv these days.

To answer your question if the wiring is from a Humminbird LCR 4000
the bracket & wiring will not fit the more modern Humminbird's.
Most newer ones have at least dual freq. transducers with surface temperature readout.

The power cord may work, but why bother saving that? Better to go with all new and nice clean connections. Most new transducers also have a temp sensor.

The power cord may work,

Won't work on a more modern Humminbird unit.
I have a couple HB LCR's & a couple newer HB's. Completely different power connection plug.

As for how good a HB LCR 4000 is, it's better than nothing if it still works but just barely. Even a new $100 unit will have far more power, more pixels & more features. Just think now much computers have improved in 20+ years. Similar progression with fishfinders.
