Anyone hooked up a Garmin Etrex handheld to a Humminbird Matrix, I need help. I have a Matrix 15 & a Garmin Etrex Legend & have done everything the book said to do, but the Matrix does not recognize the Garmin handheld? Any suggestions? Thanks.
You will have to make sure your GPS is on the NMEA setting you will find this in the set-up menu and go to the interface tab. Check your manual I am refering to the way a Garmin 76 is. I had the same problem when I hooked mine up to a Matrix 17.
Do you have to have a special cable to do this? I am considering a Garmin GPSMAP 60C and one of the Matrix finders.<br /><br />I am also considering a iFinder, but I none of them seem to be NMEA compatible.
I got mine working. I had to download software updates for my Matrix 15 & hooked it up & it works. I bought the cable from Humminbird, I believe it is ASGHHAR205. You can go to Humminbird's site & see what cable you would need. This one has a power supply, so my Etrex won't run down & plugs directly into the port on the Etrex.
