I have a Hummingbird 100SX Fish finder installed on my Glastron 195SX Bowrider, it was installed when I purchased the boat last year and has never worked well. It is very inconsistent in its function sometimes it provides an accurate depth reading and other times it is wildly wrong (indicating2 ft of water when there is at least 25 or indicating 200 ft when there is only 6 ft.) I beleive the problem is the location of the sounder at teh back of the boat, I think it should have been installed lower. Anyone have any experience with an issue like this?

Yes it looks very high. I'd also move it more starboard, between the strap and strake.

I agree, I had the same hockey puck transducer until recently and it was installed quite a bit lower and to the right.
