Does here have any experience with the hummingbird 565? It has a good vertical resolution (640) so I would think it would show alot of detail. I am also considering the Lowrance X96 but I heard the transducer that comes with it won't mount for shooting thru the hull. Thanks for the opinions.

I believe that unit has the same screen as my 767. ( 5" 640x320) . The screen is very nice IMHO. Also, 48 reviewers gave it a 4.3/5 score at Cabelas. You should read those reviews. FWIW, I've had excellent luck and longevity with my older Humminbirds. To me a BIG feature is their mount. No wires to mess with, one button removal, tilts AND swivels for viewing as I mover around the boat.

While I don't have a 565, I have had good luck with other humminbirds. I am looking at a new one for the coming season. I had been considering the 575 but it has been discontinued. I may go with the 585 or maybe one of the 700 series.

Cabelas is a good place to check reviews. There is also another placed called the fishfinder store. They also have reviews.
