Hi there everyone joined up on this board to see if anyone can help me with this problem I am having. Recently I bought a boat and with the boat came a Hummingbird Matrix 3D Fishfinder. The unit turns on but gives me the notice that it can not find a signal from the transducer. It then goes into the demo mode because it can not find a signal from the transducer. Does anyone have any idea how I can try to get this transducer to work? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Did you google it? Can you contact the previous owner and ask about this problem? Sometimes folks sell stuff with an issue they have fixed before? Worth a shot?
Did you check the connections from the transducer to the head unit? Check the entire run of cable for obvious breaks especially right at the transducer. Make sure the transducer is not covered with algae or whatever preventing it from "seeing" properly. If you find this can't be fixed and need to start buying parts, try to make sure you don't spend more on it than it's worth. Let us know.
Good luck

Welcome aboard, Josh.

Does the message say "Transducer not connected"? My Humminbird shows that when it's turned on without the transducer connected.

Try unplugging and re-plugging the transducer cable on the back. It may be loose or a pin isn't making good contact.

Yes ive done some google searching haven't found anything that has been helpful so far. Do not have any contact with the original owner unfortunately. I have checked all the connections seem fine to me. I have found replacement transducers for like $100 so not sure if its really worth it or not.

Thanks GA_Boater.

It does say transducer not connected then goes into simulation mode. It looks like its making good contact, this doesn't really make any sense.

If the cable is plugged in and making good contact, examine the cable from the connector to the transducer. Look closely at both ends, into the transducer and into the connector.
