On this model of depth finder does speedo require a separate attachement on the transducer? cannot tell if the standard transducer is "speed capable" or not? Thanks.

additional info-
this is a Airmar P37 transducer. It appears that a paddlewheel can attach to the front but I cannot a picture or anything showing this accessory anywhere.

I think most of the humminbirds speed sensors plug into the back of the unit itself.its a completely separate wire on both of my 500 series..

I am checking with Airmar on their webpage since the transducer is theirs.
don't know if Hummingbird packaged it with Airmar transducer or what since this is second hand to me.

Its not the transducer that determines it,Its the unit itself. The speed sensor is a different connection to the back of the fish finder.
Yes the 405 is a speed capable unit. Go to Humminbird website and look at the speed sensor..transom mounted.
