I looked at a super clean boat the other day here in PA, the boat's decals read Hurricane Miami FL, but the MIC code of the HIN reads XXN, which converts to a Sea n' Sport CC made in Bradenton, FL nearly identical to the one's still sold today. The boat looks nearly identical to the current V170 model.
The title reads Hurricane 16.5' and the HIN matches on the title, with no mention of the Sea N' Sport name? The title says 1992.
The boat is currently registered and is turn key in near mint condition. I've known the boat since it was new and never gave the name or make a second thought till the owner offered to sell it to me. It currently belongs to an older gentleman who is hanging up his license due to old age. ( I can have the boat for $4500 with a brand new trailer, a mint clean 165 psi times three compression reading, DT 85 Suzuki 2 stroke. I'm after a good back bay boat that won't leave me stranded and I've been on this boat many times and trust it.
Its also super light so I can tow it with my car or truck.
Has anyone any experience with these boats? Any history on the Hurricane or Sea N' Sport brands?
I tried NADA for a value but found no matching models.
NADA lists Sea N Sport in Bradenton? Did they move?
The boat runs top end at about 35 mph on the GPS with 4 guys onboard and gets there fast, so I feel the motor is pretty solid overall, the trailer is a 2008 EZ Loader bunk trailer with 13" wheels.
I've always liked the boat and really like how stable it is, plus the speed. We'll mostly only run it with two onboard but it's rated at 1050lbs total.
