Hydraulic housing leak

We just purchased a new mercury classic 50 outboard motor. Guessing the year is mid 80’s. Not sure. It has a leak at the hydraulic housing. When you are adjusting the trim and the pressure builds it squirts fluid out. (Solid stream). Looks like some sort of gasket in there. Can the gasket be replaced and if so are there resources available to show instructions and parts list. Thanks in advance.

Welcome.
A serial number would help as there are 2 possible systems for that era.
A picture of where the leak is would help as well.
Can you describe this "housing"?
Is the pump in the boat or is it part of the motor?

Thanks marc C. We found a gasket that was bad and causing the leak. Problem now is we are unable to find a replacement. Any suggestions on where to look for parts? My We have searched everywhere online with no luck. I am at work right now so I can't get the information you asked for. I'll try and get a picture when I get home if it is not too dark.

thanks again
