I have a 1997 Chaparral 240 Signature. The motor has been replaced and I am unable to locate a serial number. I do know it is a Volvo Penta 5.7Gl.
Outdrive is a Volvo Penta Dp-s 1.95 ratio. Serial # 4112036374.
I need to know what size the fittings on the hydraulic lines for the tilt system are. These are the external lines going from the manifold on the transom to the cylinders.
Any information in relation to size, pitch or thread count would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time.

take the old lines to a hydraulic shop, or simply buy the volvo lines (they are not that expensive)

Yes Sir.
I agree. It is not the purchase of the line that is the issue. The threads on the back of both cylinders are stripped out. Any suggestions to avoid the cost of 2 new ones?
Thanks for the response.

Ayuh,.... Those fittin's, if the same as a Merc, are the same as an 1/8" automotive brake line fittin',....

'n Nope,... No way to cut or clean up the corroded threads yer dealin' with,....
Yer most likely gonna need new rams, or atleast new outer housin's for the rams,....

a good cylinder shop can machine new ports, however your looking at either getting your cylinder repaired or replaced.

Thank s for the input.
I had researched rams and came across a few pics of rebuilts that had a fitting already inserted in the rear of the cylinder. I figured since steel, aluminium, salt water and time create a natural weld that this was a common problem. I will visit a machine shop in the area. See what they say.
Thanks again.
