hydraulic lines thru transom question

I need to run hydo lines from distribution manifold on gimbal plate thru gimble housing on a 1989 alpha. The merc manual says nothing about it #6. One hose has a taller 90 degree bend. Can you tell me does the taller hose go fwd or aft? I'm guessing aft. Thanks.

The Black hose is up and the Gray hose is for down.

Page 5B-10 will help show you that up on the Manifold (Black) is towards the bow and down (Gray) is towards the aft of the boat.

Page 2A-10 shows the up and down colored hoses.

I saw that in the manual but was still unsure. I Musta went through it cover to cover several times and thought there would be a specific page covering it. I even went through my engine manual thinking it would be in the transom section. Strange it's so vague. Thanks so much for your wisdom. Turns out I didn't order the manifold gasket so I gotta wait for a new one. I thought it was in the mercruiser anode kit I had and well....it's not.
