I have a 27 grady white w/ twin outboards. The hydraulic steering seems "mushy".
I have to turn the wheel at least a 1/2 turn to get the motors to start turning.
How responsive should the wheel be? Seems like it always been that way since I have had the boat.

Re: Hydraulic Steering

Hydraulic should be more precise than cable. The slightest turn of the helm should move the engines. Look for low fluid, air in the fluid, helm reservoir, steering cylinder, and lines, or leaking seals in the helm or cylinder. Look for loose fasteners or worn fittings at the engine(s) and cylinder.
