Hydraulic Trim Cylinder Sticking

Just recently I purchased and installed an o-ring kit for my '76 Mercury 470 Starboard Trim Cylinder. There was some difficulty sliding on the seals with new o-rings, but with a good amount of lube it moves back and forth. However, when the entire cylinder is re-assembled it sticks in certain positions as I operate the trim buttons in and out.

I am experiencing this problem as I attempt to bleed the cylinder of air. The aft end of the cylinders are unbolted and allowed to move freely. I begin the process by having both cylinders retracted, their hoses connected, and vent screws removed (on the resevoir). When I engage the pump to extend the arms, my port side moves freely while the starboard side cylinder needs assistance, but will extend out. At this point, I engage the pump in the opposite direction and the port side moves back in while the starboard cylinder will not retract, even with assistance.

Are my new o-rings too tight and not allowing the arm to move freely. Are both trim cylinders supposed to move together in unision, or should they be connected to the transom to operate correctly.

Does anyone have any Ideas on what I should try next ?

Re: Hydraulic Trim Cylinder Sticking

Wrong forum but the cyl has a internal leak, bad o-ring somewhere or the relief balls on the plunger are leaking.
