I have a 50hp Evenrude and have had a hard time getting on plane, mt new prop a 11 3/4 X 17 will be arriving today, so i will keep you posted. I was thinking about getting a hydrofoil to give me more lift. However there are holes already on the gavitation plate but on one side the aluminum has busted around the outside of the holes. Can i re drill holes furter apart and mount an aluminum plate on each side then mount the hydrofoil? Do you think it might throw the balance out. HELP

Re: hydro foil

Last night i out on my new prop, i filled the livewell and took off down the lake. I cannot beleive the difference the new prop made. It is a 11 3/4 X 17. I am tacking out at wide open throttle at 5,800. I could go higher but i would probably blow up my engine. So i am happy.
