Hello and thank you for the help.
I have a 25hp Yamaha 4 stroke I am think of adding a hydrofoil to the motor do they actually work? My boat is a 15 ft tri hull open bow. I was thinking of useing the SE sports 200 or the Sting Ray Jr. What do you all think good or bad idea.

Thank again

Re: Hydrofoil

What do you want one for? It'll help get your boat on plane faster and help in sharp turns. The only negative is if the engine is mounted too low, the foil will slow down the boat.(The bottom of the foil is even with the bottom of the boat).

Re: Hydrofoil

staybent,

Some people love them, some hate them.

I say give it a try and be honest with yourself about the results. If you boat is a bit under powered, or slow to plane it may help.

I have one on my bass boat (it was on there when I bought the boat - used). After reading some of the post in this forum, I took it off to compare the performance, and ended putting it back on.

Good luck,

Gold Bear
