What can you tell me about these engines?

I found a boat at a great price everything works correctly but wondering how much it will cost to switch out the engine if this one goes out. I understand I probably wont be able to find parts for this engine.

Any advice I can get about these engines will be very helpful, Thanks

The drive is very difficult to buy parts for. Personally, I would look for a boat with a Volvo or Merc.

It's a 94 Yamaha Inboard/outboard 5.0. Any idea how much it cost to switch everything out?

Ayuh,.... The basic motor, the Long Block is a 5.0l Chevy, dressed with Yamaha external accessories,....

How much it'll cost to swap out, is between you, 'n yer Mechanic,.....

The basic motor is easily, 'n fairly cheaply replaced,....
It's all the Yamaha parts that are scarce,....

Yamaha was only in the North American market for 2 maybe 3 years,....
I wouldn't buy one, 'n Free might be to much for it,....
