First off I want to say what great customer service I got at iboats.com. Was on line a couple of months ago to ask about boat covers and decided to go with shoremaster custom covers through iboats. Due to my erorr or error of the site the cover came with out the free motor cover when I inquired about this they said I could return the cover, at their expense, and they would have a motor cover sewn on. This only tood three days. I could not believe the great customer service I received from iboats and the rep Stefanie.
Now to burning up the cover.
After installing the cover to the boat and the new straps to the cover I cut the straps to lenght. Seeing the frezzies on the ends of the straps I heated the ends to melt and bond them. Well 30min later I notice smoke outside my window and looked to see the cover in flame. Rushing outside I was able to tear the cover off before reaching the motor and gas. Was lucky to see it when I did. Did recieve damage to the trolling motor and carper and seat.
It sure was a nice cover and I was sure really happy with Iboats customer service.
Just would have liked to enjoyed that cover awhile longer.

Call your insurance company. They should cover the damages minus your deductible.

Did I miss the cause of the cover catching on fire? The heat gun?

Sorry about your cover... that sucks. You could always check a local tarp or canvas shop for a quote on a new custom cover, although custom usually means more $$..
