I don't think that's supposed to be there.

I bought a jet ski over the weekend and when I opened the storage compartment I found this. Funny thing is the guy said he had sucked up rocks and had the dealer fix it "a while ago". So he's been driving around with this bouncing around in there.

Bonus points for the weeds in there as there is a hefty fine in MN for not removing all vegetation before leaving the lake.

Forgot to mention, the guy also did not have the license plate on the trailer (even though he paid for it) AND had burnt out tail lights, not the way I'd drive around town.

However he did do all the dealer recommended services so he wasn't a total flake.

How open is the intake grate to allow something that size in there?

It's bone stock so what ever seadoo has designed. I think they're designed for performance not longevity. Jet skis sucking up rocks and destroying the impeller is EXTREMELY common around here.

Guy has a ski at cabin or brings it up for the weekend. Newbie hops on and the first thing they do it hit if full throttle in 6" of water.

I'll let anyone ride my skis but they get a speech about that before they take off, one of my friends responded by saying "Rob's jet ski isn't like that" HA!
