I forgot to measure the piston ring end gap before installation.
Rings are original Suzuki +0.25/+0.50 from Browns Point.
Will the rings have sufficient end gap from factory, or does the rings need to be filed?

Don't want to pull the pistons out if it's not really needed.
Took 5 hours to get them in to the cylinders.........

I have not heard of anyone having to file them down, but do not know of many that overhaul the Suzuki's. Maybe someone that does it often will answer your question.

Did you just hone the cylinders or have them bored out?
If just honed, I would say that they are looser that standard.
Why did it take so long getting them in?

Did you end up replacing both pistons or just the one?

I honed two cylinders +0.25, and bored the one that was scored to +0.50!

I couldn find any good way to press the rings at the same time I was working the piston down in to the cylinders, I only have two hands......
I was affraid of damaging the rings so I was very careful pressing checking, pressing checking.......
I did hang the crank assy in two straps so I could lower it bit by bit, it did work well!
This is my first outboard engine, there must be better and faster ways of doing this :)

Regarding the second piston (that maby should have been replaced), I got the recomendation (from an two-stroke racing guy) that a replacement wasn't needed.
The scoring was barely seen, couldn't have been more then 0,02-0,05mm, so I grinded the piston very carfully so the outer surface went smooth.

I have read a lot on different forums of which liquid gasket to use between the cylinder block and the crank case.
Will Permatex no 2 do the job good enough? (I already have it)
