Go to www.diynetwork.com/ and click on autos&boats, and then click on boating in message boards and see my post on (more info. on my mercury 150H.P.that wont fire.) by TimMathis.
I found that site before I found this one. There is one man called MercMaster that has helped me some. He say's he worked with Mercury for 36 years
and he left A post on testing A trigger. Also I honer Clams You have helped me greatly! You can tell you know your Merc's too. Thanks, and keep the post's coming we would be lost without them. Thanks again Tim

Wayne At first I couldn"t find anyone that would work on it.And On that test. He don't mean to install the trigger does he? I think he means to wire it up and test it with a feeler guage? I hope because the shop wants $100.00 To install the trigger. Also he told me today he would not fool with A used or rebuilt one. Do you know anyone in this aera that will put a used one on for me or do you have the time?

If you're asking me if I'd install a trigger for you - you outta email me. Needless to say, I've never turned a Tower of Power in need away. There's a POS 1350 here now that I should have said "no" to. But it's done now and today will soon be a bad memory. :)

That said... $100 to install a loose trigger is about right, it takes a good two hours easy - on a good day.

As to his test... it still requires wiring up a spare trigger (then using a feeler guage to substitute for the windowed wheel. IMHO any test that requires substituting the same part isn't really a test. :D

-W

I read somewhere that mercury at one time made a trigger tester. If anyone needs one I think I can go back and get a part # . Tim
