I have a 97 Dynasty 3.0 Mercrusier engine. I was out on the river and i stopped to talk to one of my buddies. well when i started to leave is when it started acting up. It wouls try to et one plane but it would just stay at 2000RPM. That is at full throttle too. When you put it in Nuetral it Will rev up past 2000RPM but as soon as you get it in gear it wont. Do ya'll have any tips on what it might be.

Spun hub on your prop?

...other than that "acting up" doesn't say much to anyone here.

How shallow is the river ? you may have picked up some weeds on your prop . It has happened to me before , now if I go into weedy places I put it in reverse to clear the prop ... then off I go . Good luck

Check your fuel filter in carb...Might have gotten some trash from fuel cell...also check to make sure that that if it has points that they are set correctly...Check all simple things first like plugs coil wires timing and gap on points...

yea I think it is something in the drivetrain!

Kind of wierd it gave no signs.

Check the simple stuff, Fishing line in your prop is a *****.

I think I saw another thread just like this.
They did the same thing, stopped to talk to someone then went to take off and Blaaaaa.

It ended up being Fishing line.

But take note to what homeboy (Crazy) said. Take off in reverse 1st then forward

I don't think you spun the hub on the prop. When that happens you usually will over rev the motor with out the boat going anywhere (or very slowly). Not to bring you down but I had a boat that did the same thing and found the timing chain jumped a tooth. I hope that is not it.
