So yesterday morning around 9 or so I decide to watch a dvd. I fire up the home theater and sit down. About 15 minutes into the movie I start hearing this popping sound. I thought it was part of the movie until I realized the bass was coming in and out. Turned out to be my powered subwoofer. It is a big JBL that I bought three years ago. The amp in it had blown 4 months after I bought it. It was fixed under waranty, and lasted up until yesterday, when it fizzled again. Keep in mind I don't dog my gear, I never play it maxed out or any of that. I was a bit unhappy considering I had dropped almost $500 for it back then. I went to the local stereo shop and was told I could not get a replacement amp for it, but it could be repaired for about $300. I decided to just buy another subwoofer, and they gave me a $400 unit for $200 because of my problems with the first one. It is a different brand. It has 50 less watts, but otherwise it sounds fine.

So that was fun, and I decide to go online and check the UPS tracking for the fishfinder I ordered. According to the website it was delivered to my front door. I was very pleased because it was a day early, but I don't remember seeing a box when I came home. Must have missed it carrying a 50 pound subwoofer. Looked out, no box. I started to stress, called UPS, they said they would check into it. All I could think of was that it was left at the wrong house, and that the person will keep it. I got called this morning by the driver who described the house she dropped it off at. It was my neighbors, house, a doctor who has a wall around his house and an iron gate. I walked over, and the gate was open and nobody was there. My package was still sitting on the front stoop. I was pleased, grabbed my package, and let UPS know. Just one of those days....
