I sure hope you guys can get these connectivity issues solved soon, it is really getting frustrating and I am a guy that supports an internet company. Somebody needs to take charge and figure out what is going on. I run websites, just like this with hundreds of thousands of users and I understand the difficulties with upgrades. But please look at the roots of the problems..

Connectivity sounds like my latest problem. Using IE, iboats wants me to sign "up" again. When I do, I'm told that my stuff is already in use. Using chrome to post this. I prefer IE because for some reason, chrome doesn't have sound with the video links.

While it has been slow I have not had major issues with IE, there have been some. Wonder if voicing the current issues online would help for those with the skill sets to assist??

Voicing those concerns and problems is why this sub-forum was started, that list and every topic in it is a resource those that need to know, keep up to date on.

The MODS also have multiple topics keeping up to date and tracking of our problems w/ the site and the concerns of every member.

JB, if fully understand what is going on and I wish I could be in the office to help get things back up and running smooth, but I manage several systems just like this and some days it seems as if we are going backwards. It just gets very frustrating when you know the system and it works great for a few days and then all of a sudden....Nothing, won't load, won't update, won't do anything.

My comments should have included a quote of AllDodge asking about posting concerns

Still thanks for helping out

I am almost ready to buy a plane ticket and fly to where I need to, to help out, I am retired, but in my retirement, I play with boats, computers and servers as my wife owns an internet company and when things go south, I fix it., plain and simply this is my life.

I believe the issue to be traffic related. While I have no control over the server, or databases, I will voice my opinions in my meeting with the boss today. Things should be fixed soon.

I would agree to some point that it is traffic related, but there are many things that can be done to lessen bottle necks in hardware configurations, memory specifications, database optimization, etc. One thing that can be very effective is load balancing. I would be interesting in knowing if the company is running this forum and the store on the same server(s) is this a Windows server, or one of the various unix/linux varieties?

I've been having nothing but trouble with the site for the past 2 days. Replies to posts gets the box on top "working" and never goes away. At one time I left it for 2 hours and it was still "working " when I returned. Also getting the invalid response and the web site is not responding.

jb I'm well aware of the struggles, just kind of a heads up and also to see if others are experiencing trouble or if it's just me.

I know it doesn't help, but you aren't alone seeing this stuff, bonz. We're all in the same iboat, so to speak. As JB said, the crew working on it.

Oh, I get critical errors all the time, as well as extremely long load times, so long, that I normally have another window open and go surfing while I wait for the iboats window to load, also get a lot of posting a message and it just says "working" and it never comes up, I have to open a new window to see if my message actually posted.

It is a combination of not enough memory and to small a pipeline going into the server, it almost reminds me of when I ran my weather server on a DSL line, just does not work well if you get more than one person accessing it.

The critical errors are normally due to the fact the server can't write to the database fast enough. Long load times, normally means not enough bandwidth. And if the horsepower of the server is not enough, nothing is going to work right. I have been through it all before with my own servers and pipelines into those servers.

At this point in time, it is simply expected and I go on with what I am doing in other windows, then come back when I figure enough time has elapsed, just part of the system the last bit of time.
