Obviously, the stud broke and will have to be replaced, and the gen will have to come apart to do it. Not that hard to do. The Field (small) stud bolts to the side of the case, the Armature (large) stud is part of the brush holder. Field stud is part number 378470, brush holder is part number 378472, replaced by 379786. They are still available, get them from your friendly Evinrude dealer, of somebody on-line selling genuine Evinrude parts.
