I have a 2nd vhf antenna on my boat can i change the connector and use it for fm radi

I have a second 8' vhf antenna on my boat that was left on the boat with no connector on the end and its not being used. I get realy poor reception on my fm radio, I was wondering if I can put the correct connector in the end and use that for my radio instead of buying a new antenna since its allready installed and im cheap.
