I have a 1999 mercury 50 hp. I thought that when you pushed in on key you would hear the choke click on engine, this engine is new to me so not sure,I went to boat today and noticed that when I pushed in on key there was no click, engine started and ran ok. Just wandering if that is something I need to look into. Thanks for any info.

The motor is a 2 stroke ?-------------Many motors now have an enricher system.----------An electric valve that OPENS when key is pushed in.--------Fuel is then drawn into the engine for starting.--------This fuel bypasses carburetor jets.-------------You may hear a faint click when standing beside the motor .
