I have no idea what my motor is

i bought a boat motor and trailer for cheap and it has an older johnson motor on it but it has no markings, how can i find out what size it is and all the other info on it

You give very little info. If it has no markings . <br /> Are you sure its a Johnson?<br /> Theres supposed to be a ID tag on the motor mounting bracket.<br /> If you find it , theres a serial/ model number on it .<br /> Post the number, and we'll be better able to help you out.<br /> If you cant find the tag. <br /> I believe , there should be a number on the welch plug.<br /> Good-Luck,<br /> KYHunter

i found the numbers i think it says 100esl71a and i find it to be a 1971 100hp is this correct

That's the correct Johnson numbers for a 71 100 hp.

Yea, make sure you start saving for the gas now. Selling off part of your 401.k to pay for it is acceptable to an Iboats member if it means being out on the water.
