I have to retake the drivers test!

Because I'm a friggin idiot!!<br /><br />Driving into work today, my sister was showing me how she has a seperate ID for her concealed carry vrs her regular license, and how long the exp dat is on the State ID.... <br /><br />Made myself think, Hmmm, wonder when my license expires, I know it's on my Bday, but what year...<br /><br />CRAP, 2004<br />Expired 1 year 2 months ago. After 6 months, have to retake the written AND drivers test.<br /><br />I've been pulled over TWICE in the last year, cops never said a word about it, wish they had.

Don't feel bad. I let mine go for 23 months. When I went to the license branch I asked the lady how expired it had to be to take the test. She asked how much and I told her 23 months. She said I could go 18 but 23 is too much, so I had to take the written test right there. Flunked it!!! Bad thing was I had my 16 year old who had just passed his there when I flunked. I read the book that night and took again the next day and passed. I had flown at least three times with the expired license and no one caught it.

hahahaah bites being you <br /> I had to do mine a few years back in TX. I lost my original and while in main it expired so I had to fly back to TX and hang with the crowd most the day.

I let mine expire two different times and had to retake the test both times. I am getting pretty good at it.

Don't take it too hard Noel. A few years back I went down the the Licencing Agency, waited in line with all of the Untermuencsh only to find out that I was a year early. It happens both ways.

Its a guy thing... dont fret it, your normal! <br />In 1998 during lunch at a local cafe one of our group came in a little late. He had been pulled over for a brake light. Turns out his lic had expired in 96. So he stopped by the DMV and they gave him a manual to retake the written test.<br />There were about eight of us at the coffee counter at the time. 38-48 age range. <br />He started reading the questions...<br />Results<br />A: All of us failed the darn thing<br />Hey think about it. I was 45 at the time and hadnt taken a written since I was 16 years old!<br /><br />B: Two of us, me and another guy also had expired lic by a couple months!

I looked!.... good til 2008..... <br /><br />FL. does renewal via mail, so i have a couple stickers on back of mine... <br /><br />All the fee-grabbers care about is the $$$..

Took my tests today and now can drive legally again.<br />Good to go until 2012, but getting cdl next month so I get to do it all over again.

ha ha - Mine expired in July...couple weeks ago I looked up the DOT website...you can renew online up to 24 months after your license expires. I'll be getting the new one in the mail shortly, with the same picture as last time.<br /><br />But Noel, don't overlook the expired license as a traffic-citation-avoidance strategy...I've been stopped for speeding many times and never got out of a ticket...but several times they wrote up a non-moving-violation instead...license expired, or tags expired, or inspection out of date. Not that I'm recommending it or anything, just think about it.

jtexas.... that's cool you have up to TWO years to renew there without starting over.<br /><br />...technically, they can give you a 1 year suspension for driving without a license, and require you to have SR-22 insurance for 2 years (EXPENSIVE)
