I am a recent new to me boat owner. I have a 1987 Reinell 192 Beach Craft with 260/V-8. I have been trying to find a manual for this year and model online for a couple of days. I did find this Seloc manual.

Mercruiser I/O Tune-Up & Repair Manual
* Mercruiser, 1964-1991, powered by Ford or GM 4 cyl, inline 6, V6, V8
* Mercruiser, 1992-2000 - includes Carbureted & Fuel Injection
* Mercruiser, 2001-2006 - includes Carbureted & Fuel Injection

I have never taken a prop off a boat or even seen it done. It looks almost too easy. Will this manual cover changing a prop? Also any of you guys have any idea where I can find an original owners manual or a website that might have it online? Finally one last question, I know that on the engine is all the information regarding manufacturer, what RPM range I should run at and other vital specs that I need to know. I can't seem to find that info though, where is it located in the compartment?

These seem like kinda dumb questions to me but I don't have any boat savy friends to fall back on.

I too am new to this boating thing, but to try and answer one of your questions....I have had excellent results on ebay finding operator manuals and repair manuals for my old 89 pontoon...I found that even if the seller isn't trying to sell the exact manual you want, look under the link "visit sellers store" or "sellers other items"...I found one manual by just sending the guy an e-mail and ask if he had the manual.
Good Luck

Try this website, they have some Reinell owners manuals, you may possibly find what you are looking for there.

Most propellers come off the same way I think, put your tranny in neutral, block the prop from spinning perhaps with a short stub of 2x4, and using a prop wrench turn the nut off and remove. Check and make sure if you have a cotter pin to remove it first, and remember, righty tighty, lefty loosey when removing the nut. At least this is how all of the boats I've removed props from worked. Once you pull the nut off, the prop should slide off, unless it's corroded and/or frozen in place. In that case, I suppose you can spray the shaft with some lubricant/wd40 type stuff to free it up, or of it's real bad, I have seen some sort of propeller type remover rig for sale, not cheap though.

Good luck.

One thing left out of the instruction is, pull the lock tabs up so the nut will turn. You should see at the base of the nut some tabs, some sticking up and some pushed down in the notches in the hub, pull the one up that are down in the hub. If you do not have a prop wrench a pull handle and a 1 1/16 socket works just fine.
