I long should it take to clean carbs. 86 johnson 110

Im having my engine serviced for the power trim i also left a message for them to clean out the carbs since its never been done. How long should it take to clean them out and put in new gaskets ?
Could this help in the fuel consumption problem that im having for the last few years ?

I have a pair of 1987s. I doubt that cleaning the carbs will help fuel consumption if the engine is running well otherwise. These engines have fixed jets.

You could clean them yourself with the OMC shop manual. They are relatively easy to do. I did not disconnect the two therefore avoiding any changes in the sync & link. Took me (a driveway wrench) a couple of hours. There is lots of info on this site if you decide to do it yourself though the manual covers it very well.
