Yeph didn't think it would be so soon but here I am. Some are probably not glad to hear from me because I have so many questions. The 35 HP Evinrude is waitin on a water pump, sure thought I ordered one but can't find where I did. I still can't believe I found the black wire with the yellow stripe was in the wrong location it the plug. WOW, maybe there really is a Santa Clause and Tooth Fairy.
I mentioned I bought a 1983 25 HP Merc 2 stroke rope start non running and that is now my project. Its a tiller ser no. 1025223, guy said it needed a fuel pump and said he had one for me and included it in the price. When I got home looked in the box and it is a electric fuel pump. Now I don't know if you can use electric fuel pump on a outboard but I may not have a choice. One of you fellows already knew it had a Tillison carb on it and he said parts are scarce, I am finding that true. I returned a order because it was missing 3 major parts got another one on its way. Do any of you know of anybody that may have a little stash they will part with for a price? Carb kit no is 1364-4929 i think. I'll keep you all updated this is really a clean motor, I would surely hate to not see it run. Thanks to all

Gee, fuel pump kits are usually pretty available. Have you tried ebasicpower marineengine or other web sites that carry Sierra and GLM products?

An electric fuel pump can work, but they are usually set up using a relay from the charging system, so if the engine stalls, the fuel pump stops pumping for safety reasons.
