Short and sweet...A slight mishap over the weekend is making me purchase a new prop. I have a 1994 Bayliner Capri 1950 Bowrider 3.0LX I/O with an alpha 1 outdrive. The prop that was on it was a 14.25x21 3 blade aluminum. The WOT RPM's were right where they should be. I usually have 4 people on the boat, sometimes 6. I would like a bit more top speed, but dont have to have it.

I am now looking into a 4 blade ss prop. I was going to drop down to 19 or 20 in the pitch. Would this still keep my rpm's where they belong?
Would there be any advantage to moving to a 4 blade, or should I just get the same prop that I had in SS?

Thanks!!

Ayuh,....

You probably should stick with the Exact Same Prop.....

If you go to SSteel,...
The Next little Mishap will cost you an Outdrive, instead of Just a Prop....

I was not boating in my home waters when the accident happened. It was a sandbar we got hung up on, so the damage was more from trying to get unstuck in the sand.

Ayuh,... My advise still stands.....

A 3.0l just Isn't enough motor to see any advantages from a Stainless Wheel....
