Short and sweet...A slight mishap over the weekend is making me purchase a new prop. I have a 1994 Bayliner Capri 1950 Bowrider 3.0LX I/O with an alpha 1 outdrive. The prop that was on it was a 14.25x21 3 blade aluminum. The WOT RPM's were right where they should be. I usually have 4 people on the boat, sometimes 6. I would like a bit more top speed, but dont have to have it.
I am now looking into a 4 blade ss prop. I was going to drop down to 19 or 20 in the pitch. Would this still keep my rpm's where they belong?
Would there be any advantage to moving to a 4 blade, or should I just get the same prop that I had in SS?
Thanks!!
