Hi, all a newbie here to the site. I have a 1987 125 HP Force outboard on a 17' Procraft bass boat. I am in need of a new prop for the boat. I really don't need the top end speed but would like to get a good hole shot. I am unsure what pitch will be best for my needs. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Really can't be much help without your present prop, max rpm and speed(gps).

Or, knowing that Force, a 19 pitch prop would probably be just about right--unless the boat is real heavy with lots of batteries, live wells and other equipment. Then start with a 17 pitch 13 X 17. If RPM is a bit too high, you could always cup it for better "grab" in turns. The cupping will drop RPM by about 400.

If you know your current RPM and pitch, then work from there, realizing that 2 inches more pitch will drop RPM by about 400 and cupping does the same.
